It all started when I ran out of room for my vintage typewriters. I was already selling on Etsy and I realized that I could also impart vintage treasures and have fun while I was at it. Since September of 2011 I started avidly visiting local estate sales, yard sales, Goodwill shops, antique centers, and my grandmother's closets. I still have about three typewriters that I can't let go of yet, a growing vintage and antique quilt collection, and my favorite finds so far have been these beautiful vintage glass perfume bottles that I forced myself to sell. I truly believe that the items that I find are perfectly flawed and have been previously loved and that makes me feel more tied to the past as I try to place these relics into new hands and homes.
When I select items for my shop, I always choose things that I myself would use or showcase in my own home (which is how I ended up with a mantle clock, a cut crystal butter dish, and an antique seltzer bottle). Everything I sell is something that I myself am in love with.
I spend hours selecting items, cleaning them when necessary, researching them, photographing them and finally listing them - all the while having a lot of fun imagining the stories these items could tell.
I am a firm believer in what Audrey Hepburn once said about being able to appreciate the present by looking to the past, and definitely not fretting about the future.
Oh, and I am a real librarian. For realz-realz.
Some of my favorite things: Breakfast at Tiffany's, Marilyn Monroe, shiny things, being lazy and watching The Golden Girls or I Love Lucy, books or course, the Chrysler Building, listening to Lucybell, a Vodka Collins, and the ocean.
